Welcome to Kindergarten at Morris Hill and the classrooms of Mrs. Switzer, Mrs. Breidenstein, and Ms. McGalliard. At Morris Hill, your kindergartener will begin to make sense of the world around them, foster development of oral language, literacy math, and interpersonal and self-help skills. They will also think, talk, and explore while learning science and social studies concepts. We are so excited to have you here!
Mrs. Switzer: I am returning to the classroom after retiring from 34 years of teaching. I discovered that I missed it too much to give it up for good! I have a lot of experience in kindergarten but have taught many grade levels. I was born and raised in Kansas and currently live in a small town south of Junction City. I am married, have 2 boys, 1 stepdaughter, and 2 grandchildren. My passions are reading, and walking. I am looking forward to a new experience with ELL kinders and learning from them as well. We also welcome Saritza Acevedo-Nieves as an ELL bi-lingual aide into our classroom.
Mrs. Breidenstein: I previously taught preschool for 5 years and this is my 1st year teaching Kindergarten. I was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and have lived in Junction City, Kansas 10 years now. I am married with 3 daughters. I truly enjoy teaching and I am so excited to be working with your kindergartener this year. My goal is to make a safe and enjoyable learning environment for your student this year and I cannot wait to watch them grow.
Ms. McGalliard: I am from Overland Park, Kansas and I moved to Manhattan to attend college at Kansas State University. I enjoy spending my free time running, playing soccer, sitting in a hammock, or reading in a coffee shop. I have two younger brothers that I am close with along with a large extended family. Family has played an important role in my life, and I hope to recreate a positive family environment in our classroom this year. This will be my first year teaching. I look forward to a great year with you all.
