Welcome to 2nd Grade at Morris Hill! We strive to foster lifelong learners who have a passion to solve tomorrow’s problems today! In 2nd grade, students become mathematicians who can regroup, engineers who can problem solve, authors who can publish stories, and researchers who study the history that led us to today.
Mr. Newton: Hello everyone! My name is Shane Newton. This is my first year of teaching. I grew up in the small rural town of Waverly, KS and went to K-state right after high school. In 2020, I received a Bachelors of Science in Agriculture and then in 2022 received my master’s degree in teaching. I am a huge fan of Dr. Pepper, most all sweets (really food of any kind) and animals. Some other things I enjoy are hiking, kayaking (when it’s warm), hanging out with my friends, and traveling to visit friends I met in college whether across the country or the ocean. I’m really excited for the school year!!
Mrs. Wiley: I was born and raised in Montana but have lived in Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, and Colorado. My husband, daughter and I moved to Kansas from Colorado where I taught Pre-K for 6 years. My passion is to build relationships and create a lifelong joy of learning in a fun encouraging environment. In my free time I enjoy traveling to new places, anything outdoors, and reading. I also love watching football and baseball.
